We are lucky to be in an area where nature still runs at its natural rhythm, without too much human intervention. All our products are free from chemical and synthetic elements. Our vineyards and olive trees are located in the hills surrounded by fields of cereals. Together with our neighbors, we have decided to grow our fruits in a biodynamic way, following the principles of sustainability. In short, our production aims to:
  • Preserve the flavors of the earth, avoiding the use of chemical ingredients both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
  • Respect natural rhythms and cycles.
CantinArte produces with pleasure and joy his wines: Rossopuro Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 2007 and Ode Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 2009. The production per hectare is low, it is done pruning that takes a few bunches per vine, this means that the grapes have high sugar, good light interception, a good aeration of the grapes and the creation of lighting conditions appropriate to their maturity. The two wines are born from the same grape but then follow two lines that give rise to different wine-making characteristics. MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO

VINTAGE

Grape harvesting takes place during the first-second week of October .Grapes are picked by hand.

WINEMAKING

The best grapes are selected and derasped, start the fermentation that lasts 20 days, for the first 3 days the temperature is 15° C and then 28°-30° C for the following days. During the time periodic reassemblies of the must are performed to allow the extraction of the skins noble elements that will bring personality to the wine. Once the extraction stage is finished, the obtained wine is separated from the skins by a soft pressing and preserved in small French oak barrels (barriques) where the malolatict fermentation take place. Ripe and refining in barriques for 8 months until the wine is ready to be bottled.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS COLOUR

Intense ruby red.

BOUQUET

Wide, intense and persistent with pleasant sensation of candide ripe fruit.

FLAVOUR

Full bodied wine and persistent, its alcoholic contents, low sourness and soft pleasant tannins make the wine warm and corpulent, its remarkable intensity and persistence give it a wide , long-lasting taste; the tannicity due the poluphenols allow a long ageing period.

FOOD MATCHING

It is recommended for important occasion, perfect with red meatm spicy cheeses.

SERVICE

Serve it at temperature 18°-20°, pour it in a decanter before consumption.
